Mission:
The mission of the Pharmaceutical Technology research Lab is to improve and develop pharmaceutical products for providing high-quality health care to meet the diverse pharmaceutical care needs of the community Generally, the department of Pharmaceutics embraces the educational philosophy of the King Abdulziz University, faculty of Pharmacy, which is dedicated to communication, expansion and integration of knowledge through excellence in its teaching and practical pharmaceutical programs which can be carried in pharmaceutical technology research lab.
Vision:
The vision of the Department of Pharmaceutics in the faculty of Pharmacy at King Abdulziz University, is to serve the entire Saudi community by improving healthcare and the quality of life through excellence in teaching, education, and research in novel drug delivery systems to improve patient’s compliance. We will use the designed research pharmaceutical technology lab in helping the surrounding pharmaceutical plants in solving the arising manufacturing problems.
Objectives:
The laboratory is designed for providing instructions in several pharmaceutical technology aspects particularly the manufacture of various pharmaceutical dosage forms, physical pharmacy, applied biopharmaceutics , Pharmacokinetics, and design of novel drug delivery systems e.g. ocular, transdermal, rectal and oral drug delivery systems. The lab is used in integration with other departments to provide a stimulating and contemporary learning environment for our students.

Single punch tablet machine- Hardness tester- Roach-Friabilator-Autosampling dissolution tester- USP Disintegration apparatus – Spectrophotometers- Fludized bed granulator- Ball mill- Transdermal Franze Cell- Vacum Oven- DSC- Shaking Water Bathes- Sonicators- Sensitive Electric Balances- PH-meters- Tantiometers (Measurement of intraocular pressure)- Mechanical Stirrers- Hot plates with magnetic sirrers – Centrifuge- Electric Particle Sizer.
