Islamic Awareness Committee

Introduction

Islamic Awareness is one of the most beneficial committees for the students in general, because it links students to their community by including them to apply the rules of Islam with regarded to communion, interdependence, the ties of kinship and friendship and extending a helping hand to the needy. Meanwhile the Islamic Awareness Committee, Faculty of Pharmacy beside this important role of Islamic law and its provisions for drugs and their uses in the treatment of diseases and the importance of the role of the pharmacist in the construction of the Muslim community and how it contributed to raising awareness about the optimal use of medicines, which complies with Islamic low, in order to protect the society problems the misuse of drugs and addiction which is the most triggering of them. This could be achieved through holding scientific symposia. Besides, the committee does not overlook the spiritual and educational aspects through contests for the Quran and Islamic and public culture among students. Also the committee is interested in encouraging the spirit of tolerance and affection among students and their community. This might be achieved in part, by organizing a visit to the orphanages.

Vision

Our hope to that the graduate of the Faculty of Pharmacy will have a great Islamic ethics and to adhere to the principles of the Islam and apply these rules with the society in general and with his patients.

Mission

Islamic Awareness committee aimed to contribute to the preparation of doctor of pharmacy who possesses moral Islamic upscale, which is characterized by honesty, accuracy, attention and seriousness, and who knows that Allah is watching him in all his deeds, making him to be a cause of alleviating the suffering of patients and be an effective element of his society through community awareness about misuse of drugs.

Objectives

1. The contribution in the preparation of the student's integrated and balanced personality.
2. The development of the ideal Islamic behavior and ethics of the student and preparing him to bear the social and functional burden.
3. Urge the students to apply the great Islamic rules in their relations and dealings with their families and the community around them and extending a helping hand to the needy.
4. Informing the students about the importance of the role of Islamic law and its provisions for drugs and their uses in the treatment of diseases and the importance of the role of the pharmacist in the building of the Muslim community and his contribution in raising awareness about the ideal use of medicines.
5. Arranging of scientific symposia, which show the bad use of medicationss and addiction as the main drug abuse.
6. Encouraging the spirit of competition between the students through making contests for the Quran as well as religious and public culture competitions.
7. Raising the spirit of forgiveness and friendship among students and their community through the organization of visits to the Orphanage and the elderly houses.
